NBC's Excellent 'Heidi' Intro For Raiders-Jets

data-mm-id=”_qbw8hv6q5″>NBC relived a classic before the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders played on Sunday Night Football. The program's intro featured actress Jennifer Edwards, who played the title role in the 1968 film Heidi. She reminded the world of the famous "Heidi Game" between the two teams and promised it wouldn't happen again. In November of 1968, the Jets and Raiders were two of the AFL's best teams and faced off in what was destined to be a classic. The back and forth contest lived up to its billing but, unfortunately, NBC turned away from its coverage to start its presentation of Heidi on time. East Coast markets missed the Raiders' comeback, as they scored two touchdowns in the final minute to win 43-32. Almost exactly 55 years later, here…

Did The Rams Get Screwed By Missed Block In The Back On Ravens Game-Winning Punt Return?

data-mm-id=”_8ltzptdtz”>The Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Rams gave us one of the NFL's best games of the week, a 37-31 tense overtime thriller that ended in spectacular fashion. But was that ending tainted by a missed call on Tylan Wallace's 76-yard walk-off punt return touchdown? The Rams are likely to argue so. Here's the play:Tylan Wallace takes it all the way for a walk-off punt return TD! 🔥 pic.twitter.com/VWBqUd82VN— NFL (@NFL) December 10, 2023A great, thrilling way to end a game. But there are actually two questionable missed calls on this punt return. Working in the NFL Sounds Like the Worst Possible Choice for Those Intimidated By Large People

data-mm-id=”_7a02a6av8″>Mike Vrabel did not find himself holding a gig as the NFL head coaching carousel went round and round this winter. Which could be see a surprise considering the success he's had with the Tennessee Titans and his ability to instill legitimate toughness and physicality. It seems like that type of power and presence would speak volumes and get a team to bite because an established track record feels so much safer than the unknown. On the other hand, Vrabel is very large because he played linebacker in the NFL. At 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds he's going to be the most physically imposing person in most rooms. In fact, pretty much anywhere except … an NFL team facility. Speaking on The Athletic Football Show, Dianna Russini relayed some information gleaned fro…

49ers Dealt Tough Christian McCaffrey Injury Blow For Week 1 Clash With Jets

data-mm-id=”_3dxanf93r”>The San Francisco 49ers will begin their 2024 season on Monday Night Football against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets at home, but they will be without an important piece to their offense. Swiss Army knife Christian McCaffrey, who has been dealing with calf and Achilles injuries across the past week, won't suit up in the opener, per Mike Garofolo. CMC did initially feel confident about playing in Week 1 despite being listed as questionable, but the Niners have decided to keep him on the sidelines. Per Garofolo, CMC tested out his calf on Monday but it didn't feel completely right. Given this is the first game of the campaign, it's certainly smart to be cautious. Jordan Mason will be San Francisco's starting running back in place of McCaff…

Georgia 1-1 Czechia: Patrik Schick scores first goal at Euro 2024 to rescue crucial point

Georgia and Czechia played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in Hamburg to leave their qualification to the knockout stages of Euro 2024 alive.

Patrik Schick s sixth European Championship goal, surpassing Milan Baros, cancelled out Georges Mikautadze’s penalty opener but despite their dominance the Czechs could not force the win they needed.

They now have to beat Turkey in their final Group F match to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stage, while minnows Georgia face an even more formidable task against Portugal.

An additional concern was a calf injury to Schick, whose six-goal haul from the last two Euros is more than Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane have scored, late in the second half.
